मिषतो दशमासस्य तत्रैवान्तर्दधे हरिः ॥ ११ ॥
miṣato daśamāsasya tatraivāntardadhe hariḥ
Synonyms
vidhūya — after extinguishing [nirasya30]; tat — that [brahmāstra fire (brahm-āstra-tejaḥ)31]; bhagavān — Bhagavān; hariḥ — Hari [Kṛṣṇa]; ameyātmā — of immeasurable or unfathomable being [(avitarka-rūpaḥ);32 meaning that His essential being and intrinsic nature are without divisions (aparicchinna-svarūpa-svabhāvaḥ)33]; dharma-gup — [who is] the protector of dharma [(dharmaṁ gopāyati); and specifically of His own dharma in the form of the affection He feels for His devotees (bhakta-vātsalya-rūpaṁ sva-dharmam)34]; vibhuḥ — [and] all-pervading [sarva-gataḥ]; antaḥ dadhe — disappeared [antarhitaḥ]; tatra eva — then and there [from where He was just seen (yatra dṛṣṭaḥ), without going anywhere (na tv anyatra gataḥ), because He is all-pervading (yato vibhuḥ)]; daśamāsasya — [while] the ten-month-old baby [in the womb]; miṣataḥ — looked on [paśyataḥ].
Translation
After extinguishing that brahmāstra fire, Bhagavān Hari, of immeasurable [or unfathomable] being, who is the protector of dharma and all-pervading, disappeared then and there while the ten-month-old baby [in the womb] looked on.
