SB 1.11.3

तमुपश्रुत्य निनदं जगद्भयभयावहम् ।
प्रत्युद्ययुः प्रजाः सर्वा भर्तृदर्शनलालसाः ॥ ३ ॥
tam upaśrutya ninadaṁ jagad-bhaya-bhayāvaham
pratyudyayuḥ prajāḥ sarvā bhartṛ-darśana-lālasāḥ

Synonyms

upaśrutya — on hearing [śrutvā8]; tam — that; ninadam — sound [of Kṛṣṇa’s conch (śaṅkha-nādam)9]; bhaya-āvaham — [which] frightens away [lit., “which induces fear in”]; jagat-bhaya — worldly fears [or the deva who embodies the persona of fear (bhayam abhimānī devaḥ)]; sarvāḥ — all; prajāḥ — the citizens [of Dvārakā]; udyayuḥ — scurried [utkarṣeṇa agrato jagmuḥ]; prati — toward [Him (tam)]; lālasāḥ — eager [utsukyaṁ yāsāṁ tāḥ10]; darśana — to see; bhartṛ — their Master [or Guardian (sva-pālakasya)].

Translation

On hearing that sound of Kṛṣṇa’s conch, which frightens away worldly fears, all the citizens of Dvārakā scurried toward Him, eager to see their Master.
