दाध्मायमानः करकञ्जसम्पुटे यथाब्जखण्डे कलहंस उत्स्वनः ॥ २ ॥
’py urukramasyādhara-śoṇa-śoṇimā
dādhmāyamānaḥ kara-kañja-sampuṭe
yathābja-khaṇḍe kala-haṁsa utsvanaḥ
Synonyms
dādhmāyamānaḥ — while being blown [filled up by Bhagavān (bhagavatā āpūryamāṇaḥ)6]; saḥ — that; daraḥ — conch [śaṅkhaḥ]; dhavala-udaraḥ api — although white-bodied by constitution [svato dhavalam udaraṁ yasya tathā-bhūto’pi7]; śoṇimā — [appeared] reddish; adhara-śoṇa — [from the touch of] the rosy-red lips [adharasya yaḥ śoṇa-guṇas tena-śoṇimā]; urukramasya — of Urukrama [Śrī Kṛṣṇa]; kara-kañja-sampuṭe — [as it rested] in His lotus palms [kara-kamale tayoḥ sampuṭe madhye vartamānaḥ]; uccakāśe — it shone most beautifully [atiśayena śuśubhe]; yathā — like [tad-vat]; utsvanaḥ — a loudly trumpeting [ucca-śabdaḥ]; kala-haṁsaḥ — swan [rāja-haṁsaḥ]; abja-khaṇḍe — [positioned] in the midst of a cluster of red lotuses [rakta-kamala-samūhe].
Translation
While being blown, that conch, although white-bodied by constitution, appeared reddish from the touch of the rosy-red lips of Urukrama [Śrī Kṛṣṇa]. As it rested in His lotus palms, it shone most beautifully, like a loudly trumpeting swan positioned in the midst of a cluster of red lotuses.
