पिशङ्गवासा वनमालया बभौ घनो यथार्कोडुपचापवैद्युतैः ॥ २७ ॥
prasūna-varṣair abhivarṣitaḥ pathi
piśaṅga-vāsā vana-mālayā babhau
ghano yathārkoḍupa-cāpa-vaidyutaiḥ
Synonyms
upaskṛtaḥ — adorned [maṇḍitaḥ81]; sita-ātapatra — [with] a brilliant white parasol [(chatram), which is compared to the sun (arkaś chatrasyopamānam)]; vyajanaiḥ — [and] two white cāmara fans [which appear rounded when circulated and are thus compared to two moons (candraḥ paribhramaṇa-kṛta maṇḍalākārayoś cāmara vyajanayoḥ)]; abhivarṣitaḥ — being showered; varṣaiḥ — with rains; prasūna — [of] flowers [which are compared to stars (nakṣatrāṇi puṣpa-vṛṣṭaiḥ)]; pathi — along the way [mārge82]; piśaṅga-vāsāḥ — [clad] in yellow garments [which are compared to the effulgence of lightning (vidyut-tejaḥ)]; vana-mālayā — [and wearing] a garland of forest flowers [which is compared to a rainbow (cāpam)]; [Śrī Kṛṣṇa, who is compared to a cloud (ghanaḥ kṛṣṇasyopamānam)83]; babhau — shone beautifully [śuśubhe84]; ghanaḥ yathā — like a cloud [meghaḥ]; [surrounded by]; arka — the sun; uḍupa — the moon and stars [nakṣatra-sahitaś candramāḥ]; cāpa — a rainbow [indra-dhanuḥ]; vaidyutaiḥ — [and] lightning [vidyut-tejaḥ].
Translation
Adorned with a brilliant white parasol and two white cāmara fans, being showered with flowers along the way, clad in yellow garments, and wearing a garland of forest flowers, Śrī Kṛṣṇa shone beautifully like a cloud surrounded by the sun, the moon, stars, a rainbow, and lightning.
