अजातशत्रावभवन्जन्तूनां राज्ञि कर्हिचित् ॥ ६ ॥
ajāta-śatrāv abhavan jantūnāṁ rājñi karhicit
Synonyms
rājñi — during the reign; ajāta-śatrau — of King Yudhiṣṭhira, whose enemy was never born; ādhayaḥ — mental anguish [mano-vyathāḥ20]; vyādhayaḥ — bodily diseases [rogāḥ]; kleśāḥ — [and] miseries [such as excessive heat and cold (śītoṣṇādi kṛtāḥ)]; hetavaḥ — occasioned; daiva-bhūta-ātma — [by] nature, other living beings, or their own psychophysical constitutions [adhidaivikādīnām]; na karhicit — never [na kadācid api21]; abhavan — occurred; jantūnām — of [i.e., to] the living beings [prāṇinām22].
Translation
During the reign of King Yudhiṣṭhira, whose enemy was never born, mental anguish, bodily diseases, and miseries occasioned by nature, other living beings, or their own psychophysical constitutions, never occurred to the living beings.
