रेमे स्त्रीरत्नकूटस्थो भगवान्प्राकृतो यथा ॥ ३५ ॥
reme strī-ratna-kūṭastho bhagavān prākṛto yathā
Synonyms
saḥ eṣaḥ — that same; bhagavān — Bhagavān [Śrī Kṛṣṇa]; avatīrṇaḥ — who avatārically descended; asmin — in this; nara-loke — human world; sva-māyayā — by His own intrinsic potency [(yoga-māyaiva);113 or by His own will (ātma-saṅkalpena)114]; reme — enjoyed; kūṭasthaḥ — in the midst of an assembly [kadamba-sthaḥ115]; strī-ratna — [of] jewel-like women [uttama-strī]; yathā — in the manner; prākṛtaḥ — [of] an ordinary man [by external action alone, even though His internal feeling-awareness was categorically distinct (bhāva-vailakṣaṇo’pi kriyayā sāmyam);116 here by the words, “like an ordinary man” (yathety anena), it is implied that because of the transphenomenal nature (aprākṛtatvāt) of Kṛṣṇa’s amorous sports (ramaṇasya) and of their cause (kāraṇasya) in the form of amorous desire (kāma), His enjoyment was beyond the influence of the material guṇas (nirguṇam uktam)117].
Translation
That same Bhagavān [Śrī Kṛṣṇa], who avatārically descended in this human world by His own intrinsic potency [yoga-māyā], enjoyed in the midst of an assembly of jewel-like women, in the manner of an ordinary man.
