हर्षविह्वलितात्मानः सिषिचुर्नेत्रजैर्जलैः ॥ २९ ॥
harṣa-vihvalitātmānaḥ siṣicur netrajair jalaiḥ
Synonyms
āropya — placing; putram — [their] son [śrī kṛṣṇam87]; aṅkam — on their laps; tāḥ — they [Devakī and the other mothers (devakyādayaḥ)]; payodharāḥ — whose breasts [stanau]; sneha-snuta — were flowing [with milk] out of affection [snehena snutau prasravantau]; ātmānaḥ — [and] whose hearts [manaḥ]; harṣa-vihvalita — were overcome with joy [harṣeṇa vihvalita]; siṣicuḥ — show-ered [or anointed (abhyaṣican)88]; [Him (tam)89]; jalaiḥ — with tears [of ecstasy (ānanda-vāṣpaiḥ)]; netrajaiḥ — streaming from their eyes.
Translation
Placing their son [Śrī Kṛṣṇa] on their laps, the mothers, whose breasts were flowing with milk out of affection and whose hearts were overcome with joy, showered Him with tears of ecstasy streaming from their eyes.
