यच्छृण्वतां रसज्ञानां स्वादु स्वादु पदे पदे ॥ १९ ॥
yac-chṛṇvatāṁ rasa-jñānāṁ svādu svādu pade pade
Synonyms
vayam — we; tu130 — however [who are sated by our engagement in yoga and ritual practices (yoga-yāgādiṣu tṛptāḥ sma)131]; na vitṛpyāmaḥ — are not at all satiated [viśeṣeṇa na tṛpyāmaḥ132]; vikrame — in regard to the heroic deeds [(vikrama-mātre);133 the numerous varieties of divine play (vividha-prakāra-līlāyām)134]; uttama-śloka — [of] Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa, who is praised in choice poetry [whose hymns of praise (yasya ślokaḥ), or glories (yaśaḥ) are supreme above all (uttamaḥ, sarva-śreṣṭhaḥ);135 or whose glory (ślokaḥ, yaśaḥ) is that by which (yasmāt) ignorance (tamaḥ) is uprooted (ut, i.e., udgacchati); or whose glories are sung (ślokyate) even by the most highly self-realized liberated souls (uttamair jīvan-muktair api), such as the four Kumāras, beginning with Sanaka, who directly experience the bliss of Brahman (brahmānandānubhava-yuktaiḥ)136]; śṛṇvatām — hearing; yat — of which [deeds]; rasa-jñānām — the connoisseurs of rasa; svādu svādu — [experience] greater and greater relish [svāduto’pi svādu]; pade pade — at each and every word [or moment (pratikṣaṇam)].
Translation
We, however, are not at all satiated in regard to the heroic deeds of Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa, who is praised in choice poetry, hearing of which [deeds], the connoisseurs of rasa experience greater and greater relish at each and every word or moment.
